General Grant Request
The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) is a nonprofit, charitable organization established in 1980, which serves as the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and North Carolina. The mission of the DDF is to improve oral health by providing education and dental care to those in need, supporting the dental profession and advancing dental science.
Each year, the DDF proudly provides financial support to programs and organizations dedicated to furthering the mission of the DDF.
The DDF evaluates each application on its own merits, and careful consideration is given to each request. Primary considerations include: programs in which the requesting organization is engaged; the constituencies served; accountability and fundraising practices; level of community engagement; availability of alternative sources of funding; viability of the program; and potential impact on oral health and/or dental science.
Grants may also be made to specific projects and programs in schools, prekindergarten through grade 12, as well as universities and colleges.
The DDF does not normally provide grants for building construction or to cover an organization’s normal overhead expenses, including salaries.
In addition, grants will not be awarded for the following:
Individuals (with the exception of recipients of the DDF’s leadership awards, scholarships, research grants and community service awards)
Organizations that discriminate by race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status or national origin
Political activities, organizations or campaigns
Projects developed for commercial or proprietary purposes.
